This cold-soak recipe is packed full of garlic and parmesan flavor and packs a caloric punch too! Even better, it is super cheap and requires no dehydrator. This recipe is directly from Backcountry Foodie, a well known dietician hiker who helps create some awesome recipes!
Just a cup of water and a half hour is all the time you need for this meal. The only problem might be with the dirty dishes this creates, as the cheese sticks to everything. Despite this, the ease of preparation and tasty flavor makes it very worth it in my opinion.
Ingredients:
1 package ramen
1 tbsp parsley
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp salt
5 packets parmesan cheese
37.5 mL olive oil
8 oz water
Home Prep:
Add the seasonings into a plastic bag
Add the 5 packets of cheese and package of ramen into the bag
Leave in packaging if not consuming within next 1-2 days
Store olive oil in whatever container works best for you
I repackage olive oil into emptied mini-fireball bottles.
Trail Instructions:
Crush ramen until you lose patience
Add 8 oz water to cold soaking container
Add in the ramen noodles and discard the seasoning packet
Remove the cheese packets and pour the spices into the container
Shake and allow to rehydrate for approximately 30 minutes
